Taste Test: “Hunter” and “Ram Rod” on Lamb Shoulder Chops

With the terrible weather we have been having we decided to warm ourselves up a bit with some beautiful lamb shoulder chops cooked on the Weber Traveler. This was also a great time to try out some of our lamb rubs. Namely, “Hunter” by Butchers Axe and “Ram Rod” by Rum and Que.

After tasting both rubs, I can tell that there is a distinctive difference between the two.

First up is “Ram Rod” by Rum and Que. This rub provides a nice full flavour with the slightest hint of warmth. This helps cut through the fattiness of the lamb and compliments it nicely.

Next up is “Hunter” by Butchers Axe. This can be considered a more traditional lamb rub and features a nice rosemary earthy taste which amplifies the taste of the lamb.
